Jane Forman Tennis Academy

The Jane Forman Tennis Academy (JFTA) has been providing traditional tennis programs in Miami-Dade County since 1989. Conveniently based out of the Alper JCC Tennis Center, we offer a variety of tennis programs for children, teens, and adults of all backgrounds, ages, and levels of ability.

Junior Programs

Thousands of young athletes have grown up playing tennis through the JFTA. At present, we offer tennis clinics 6 days a week during the schoolyear and tennis camps whenever school is out for kids of all levels (ages 3–16), as well as private instruction, tournaments, and tennis at your school. All programs are coached by USPTA and/or USPTR-certified tennis professionals, and our teaching methods are based on the USTA’s ROGY training system.

Adult Programs

Through the JFTA, adults can enjoy a wide range of programs tailored to their needs and schedule. Our certified tennis professionals use their extensive knowledge to teach techniques and strategy at a fun, progressive pace. We currently offer daytime and nighttime clinics, competitive league play, and private instruction.

Dade County Sports

Our Mission

Dade County Sports is committed to making youth athletics more accessible through a variety of after-school sports programs. At present, we manage soccer, basketball, lacrosse, and tennis programs at a growing collection of elementary schools and K–8 centers in Miami-Dade County. Additionally, we offer camps, clinics, and opportunities for high school students to earn community service hours through coaching.

Programs & Registration

We offer professionally coached athletic programs at your school, after school. Kids are grouped by age and ability and taught fundamental skills through drills and games in a fun, recreational setting. Our programs are designed to increase confidence and help kids lead a healthy, active lifestyle. All programs are for boys and girls, grades PreK to 8.

Registration is per quarter (6–9 weeks) or per season (12–18 weeks). Prices vary depending on quarter length and activities chosen. Each quarter includes weekly practices and monthly tournaments, allowing kids to try out the skills they learned and compete.

Dade County Sports Foundation

“Never deny a child the opportunity to play.” — Dorothy Forman

The Dade County Sports Foundation (DCSF) is a 501C3 public charity established in 1999 that works to enable children of all backgrounds and circumstances to participate in sports programs and summer camps throughout the year.

Through our partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools and the Juvenile Justice System, school administrators and Guardian ad Litems choose deserving children as recipients for athletic scholarships. Additionally, through our partnership with Cancer Support Community Greater Miami (CSCGM), we offer scholarships to children in families affected by cancer.

Our most common scholarship allows the recipient to attend all 10 weeks of our Summer Tennis Camp for free. To date, we’ve granted over $250,000 in athletic scholarships to children throughout Miami-Dade County.
